Editorial & Commercial Policy
The Next Object is a product-discovery publication. Our job is to find launches early, select the few worth a reader’s attention and provide a direct path to the official campaign.
Selection
We look for products that are genuinely new, useful or delightful; visually distinctive; clearly explained; timely; and supported by credible evidence about the product and maker. We favour a balanced issue rather than five versions of the same idea. Products that do not fit are generally excluded quietly rather than featured for criticism.
Verification
Before publication, material facts such as price, claimed saving, campaign status, estimated delivery and maker history are checked against current sources. Crowdfunding facts are time-sensitive, so each issue carries its publication date and risk notice. Corrections are made transparently when needed.
Affiliate links
Some campaign or retail links may generate a commission without changing the reader’s price. Affiliate availability may influence which destination link is used, but it does not by itself secure inclusion.
Paid partner features
A creator may pay for a feature or campaign package only after the product is accepted as a suitable fit. Paid placements are labelled “Paid partner” or with an equally clear label. Payment does not permit unsupported claims or guarantee favourable future coverage.
AI assistance
AI systems assist with broad web discovery, duplicate detection, source organisation, first drafts and formatting. A publication workflow checks sources, commercial labels, campaign links and assets before an issue is approved. AI is a production tool, not the source of undisclosed product claims.
Images and assets
We use product assets supplied or authorised by creators, licensed commercial feeds, our own assets, or images used for legitimate editorial identification with attribution. Creator submissions must confirm authority to provide campaign assets. Contact us promptly about an ownership or attribution concern.
